      Sedation Options We Offer

We provide different levels of sedation to suit your needs:

      IV Sedation

Dr. Sigel has advanced training in IV sedation, which helps keep patients deeply relaxed during complex procedures like wisdom teeth removal and dental implant placement. This safe and effective technique involves administering the sedative intravenously. Due to Dr. Sigel’s ability to perform advanced procedures, often referred to specialists, IV sedation has become a popular choice at our office.

      Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitro oxide, also known as "laughing gas," is a mild sedative that helps ease anxiety during treatment. The gas is administered through a small nose piece to keep you relaxed while remaining fully alert. For added calmness, it can also be combined with oral sedation when needed.

      Oral Sedation

Oral sedation involves taking a prescribed medication, such as Ativan, about an hour before your appointment. This option helps you feel calm and at ease throughout your visit. If you choose oral sedation, a trusted adult must accompany you to and from your appointment.

The Sedation Process: What to Expect

      1.

      Before Your Appointment

We'll review your medical history, discuss sedation options, and provide pre-appointment instructions. If using oral sedation, you'll take the prescribed medication before your visit. If IV sedation is being used, you will first have an IV consultation to conduct a full health assessment, review pre and post operation instructions and ensure you feel comfortable with the procedure.
      2.

      During Your Treatment

Once the sedation takes effect, you’ll feel deeply relaxed. With IV sedation, we continuously monitor your comfort level, adjusting as needed. Dr, Sigel will then perform the procedure while you remain at ease.
      3.

      After Your Appointment

For IV and oral sedation, you’ll need a friend or family member to drive you home. We recommend resting for the remainder of the day, and our team will provide aftercare instructions to help ensure a smooth recovery. With Nitrous Oxide sedation, patients typically recover quickly and will be able to drive themselves home after the treatment.
