Dr. Sigel’s Specialized Training
Dr. Sigel has extensive experience in complex extractions, including wisdom teeth removal. He attended an intensive surgical training course in Guatemala, where he gained hands-on experience performing challenging wisdom teeth extractions. This training has allowed him to confidently address even the most difficult cases.
Why You Need Your Wisdom Teeth Removed
Wisdom teeth generally emerge in your late teens to early twenties. While some individuals may have no issues, others experience complications as these teeth can grow in awkward positions. In these cases, wisdom teeth can cause problems such as:
Crowded Mouth
Wisdom teeth can cause overcrowding when there’s not enough space in the mouth. This can shift other teeth and lead to alignment issues.
Infections
Partially erupted wisdom teeth create an opening for food and bacteria to enter. This can result in painful gum infections and swelling.
Damaging Neighbouring Teeth
Impacted wisdom teeth can push against the second molars, putting pressure on neighbouring teeth and increasing the risk of infections.
Cysts & Tumours
In rare cases, cysts or tumours can develop around impacted wisdom teeth. These can damage the jawbone or nerves and may require additional treatment.
Our Wisdom Teeth Removal Process
At Lakeview Dental, we prioritize a smooth and stress-free surgical procedure.
1.
IV Sedation Consultation
Your process begins with a consultation to discuss IV sedation, which is our standard for wisdom teeth removal. Dr. Sigel will review your health history, address concerns, and guide you through the procedure to make sure you’re relaxed and informed.
2.
The Extraction Procedure
On the day of your extraction, our team will be there to provide ongoing support from the moment you walk in the door. Dr. Sigel will administer IV sedation and then carefully remove your wisdom teeth, using his advanced training to manage any complexities.
3.
PRF Therapy for Faster Healing
After your extraction, we use Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) to speed up healing. PRF is made from your own blood and applied to the extraction site to promote faster recovery and minimize the risk of complications.
4.
Aftercare
After your procedure, we provide detailed post-op instructions to guide you through your recovery. You'll also receive take-home information for easy reference. Our team is always available to answer questions and support you every step of the way.

Pain Management
Pain is a common outcome after wisdom teeth removal, but it can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers or prescribed medications if necessary.
Dietary Restrictions
For the first few days, stick to soft foods and liquids, gradually reintroducing harder foods as you begin to heal and feel more comfortable.
Oral Hygiene
Maintaining your oral health is essential, but avoid brushing or flossing near the extraction site for the first 24 hours to allow healing.
What Our Patients Are Saying
Ciara Neufeld
Had my first cleaning at Lakeview dental with Jamie as my hygienist. She was kind, attentive, and gentle. I love the soothing atmosphere and friendly staff! Highly recommend!
John Wilson
What a comfortable and welcoming environment. I was looking for a dentist because I just moved to West Kelowna. I needed a cleaning as I missed my last one because of the move. Debbie at the front seat was funny and cheerful and Sierra (hope I spelled this correctly), the hygienist was gentle and thorough. Sierra didn’t use that ultrasonic cleaner device to clean my teeth, she hand scaled. When I asked her about this she said “ I appreciate the tactile feel of scaling by hand”. So much nicer. I can’t wait to meet the dentist for my appointment in May!

Very kind workers, i would highly recommend going here. And as soon as i walked in it looked almost like a spa.

Take it from someone who has always viewed up-coming dental treatments with hesitation and trepidation, knowing I was, for sure, in for pain.
Dr. Sigel and assistant Alana are so patient-oriented that they made my visit painless, informative and a delightful change from any of my experiences with other dentists.
Absolutely no pain at all, and he did a lot of drilling and tooth shaping, like the artist he is. He took out an old filling, cleared an active decay that was underneath that, and then cleaned, cleared and shaped the tooth in anticipation of a full crown. They both clearly explained each of several processes and gave me a clear picture of what was being done.
You gotta use Lakeview Dental. Check in with Debbie up front. She is warm and always smiles. She helps you through the paperwork professionally and patiently.
In fact, I’m looking forward with a smile to my upcoming next visit.

My husband and I are extremely pleased with Lakeview Dental and would highly them. My husband and I were in search for a Dentist that would take the Canadian Dental Care Plan as our prior Dentist was not accepting it. Not only do they take the plan Lakeview Dental was able to do a root canal for me that my prior dentist had sent me to a root canal specialist who quoted double the price for the root canal. All in all my husband and I are really happy we found Lakeview Dental.
